Loved the hand bound journal that was made by Ann from the Art Journal Round Robin group! I got a little stuck on what I wanted to do in this journal and began by just adding different colors to the pages with acrylic paint/water-color crayons. I also experimented more with layering gesso on top of the bottom layer before adding more colors. To add some texture and shine I added some metallic silver tissue paper along with covering different parts of the paper with different stamps. The page on the left ended up looking like planets and stars which made me think of all the times I wished on a star when I was little. The next page has some butterflies which represent change and flowers which represent growth. There is a secret message at the bottom of the page using a technique I found on YouTube called “ghosting” with sharpie markers and gesso. The message talks about the changes and growth that I have been experiencing in the last couple of months. Can’t wait for the next journal to arrive. I am learning so much about art journaling and more importantly about myself.
